Bach Wen Holiday Cottages

Things to do

Bach Wen is an ideal base for many local attractions on the Llŷn Peninsula, including Caernarfon Castle and Snowdonia National Park. The quaint village of Aberdaron is at the end of the peninsula, Trefor (5 minutes drive) has a quiet sandy beach and offers offshore and deep sea fishing trips (boats can also be launched for a fee) and there is the Blue Flag accredited beach at Dinas Dinlle (10 minutes drive).

Portmeirion (the classical Italian designed village on the coast) is within 25 minutes drive and the Welsh Slate Museum and Lake Railway is at Llanberis.

There is go-karting at Glasfryn, pony-trekking on Cader Idris and Abersoch is famed for its surfing and water sports community. Golfers can enjoy the splendid links golf course at Nefyn (10 minutes drive).

You may wish to explore the unique landscape by enjoying one of the many coastal walks (longest coastal walk in the UK is from Clynnog Fawr to Bardsey Point). There are also many historical features within walking distance from the farm: ancient burial chambers and the historical church in Clynnog Fawr.

Alternatively, our site is a registered Environmentally Sensitive Area where you can sit and relax amongst the ancient hedgerows and streams and listen to the waves crashing on the shore.
